LET'S GET GROWING!

The San Diego County Fair’s Plant*Grow*Eat program teaches children about agriculture and nutrition. Teachers of Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade classes throughout San Diego County can sign up their class to participate in this program at no cost.

More than 250,000 students, thousands of teachers and volunteer judges have participated in the San Diego County Fair’s award-winning agricultural program Plant*Grow*Eat over the past 30 years.

NEW IN 2024! Pre-K through 6th Grade classes will visit The Farm at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in May, before the start of the San Diego County Fair. A series of agricultural learning stations will introduce students to agriculture — both plants and farm animals. At the culmination of the tour each student will receive seeds and planting supplies to plant, grow, harvest — and of course eat — at home. Each student will also receive an admission ticket to attend the San Diego County Fair.

There are 10 available Plant*Grow*Eat sessions to choose from: Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24, beginning at either 9:30am or 11:45am each day.*

Interested in helping out the Plant*Grow*Eat program? Come and join the team that sets up the Farm and various Plant*Grow*Eat educational stations. We work hard, and have fun doing it!

TITLE ONE SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Are you a Title One school in need of bus transportation to the San Diego County Fair for your class? Our Don Diego Scholarship Foundation has a special program to underwrite bus transportation so kids can visit the Fair for the Plant*Grow*Eat program.
