The San Diego County Fair's
Plant*Grow*Eat
program introduces
Kindergarten through Third Grade
students to the wonders of agriculture. Teachers throughout San Diego County can sign up their class to participate in this program at
no cost
. For more than 30 years, the Fair has introduced more than 250,000 students, thousands of teachers and volunteers to this award-winning agricultural program.
Students visit
The Farm
at the
Del Mar Fairgrounds
in
May
,
before the start of the San Diego County Fair.
Through interactive learning stations focused on plants and farm animals, students gain hands-on knowledge about farming and the food cycle. At the end of each tour, each student will leave with a pot of newly planted radish seeds to grow, harvest, and of course eat — at home. Each student will also receive an admission ticket to attend the
San Diego County Fair
. Plant*Grow*Eat creates a learning experience that is both fun and memorable!
