YOUR ART ON DISPLAY

The Exhibition of Fine Art is a highly competitive and extremely popular juried competition featuring both 2-D and 3-D entries. The artwork includes many variations of drawing, painting, mixed media, sculptures, ceramics and more.

This competition awards more than $18,000 in cash and prizes each year and is open to artists ages 18 years and older. The art exhibit is an opportunity for artists to have their artwork viewed by a large number of art enthusiasts who visit the exhibit each day. Artwork must be original and must have been completed within the last three years. Selected artwork remains on display in the East Grandstand for the duration of the San Diego County Fair.

ONE-DAY CONTESTS

Artists have an opportunity to participate in our One-Day Contests. Plein Air artists will paint on location for a fun day at the Fair. Retro Pet and Mini Masterpiece artists will bring their completed artwork to the Fair on the day of the contest. All art will be judged on-site for cash awards and ribbons. Pre-registration is required.

PLEIN AIR

Bring your own art supplies and paint on location at the Fair — you and your easel capturing this summer event while it's happening around you!

RETRO PET PORTRAIT

In spirit of this year's "Let's Go Retro" theme, this one-day contest challenges artists to paint a portrait of your pet in a creative, retro way!

Miniature Masterpiece Contest

Big things often come in small packages, and this contest shines the light on delightful art on small canvases (no larger than 7"x7"). 3-D artwork also accepted.
