Mickey is a retired U. S. Navy Chief Photographers Mate with an impressive 24-year career, during which he traversed the globe, telling the stories of today’s military men and women in three different wars. In his distinguished final assignment, he held the position of Senior Enlisted Leader within the Navy's prestigious Combat Camera Group Pacific. His latest exhibition features the Veterans Portrait Series, a collection that beautifully captures the stories of the Greatest Generation and their service. For this project, Mickey conducts interviews with each veteran, gathering and documenting their remarkable stories to ensure that these historical accounts and the individuals behind them are preserved for future generations. Mickey has gathered images and stories from over 100 warriors who, at one point, answered the call when our country needed their service and sacrifice the most. Mickey continues to collect the stories and create imagery of veterans from all services for the Veterans Portrait Series. When not immersed in this project, Mickey teaches at institutions like the Maine Media Workshops, ACME Educational, West Palm Beach Photo Centre, and the Madeline Island School of the Arts.
