Floral Design Contest winner

7th Annual Floral Design Competition

Congratulations to Carvill Veech from Coronado, winner of this year's Floral Design Competition, which was June 19, 2016. Carvill, pictured with one of her winning designs, now has the chance to compete at the state level this fall. Dale Rekus from Hillcrest took second place, and Diana Drummey from La Mesa was third.

The competitors did two rounds, one that was the designer's choice to fit the Fair theme, "Mad About the Fair," and the other involved making an arrangement from materials the Fair provided. In both rounds, the design was created on-site.
