We invite you to participate in the 2016 San Diego County Fair! Whether you would like to enter an exhibit, apply for a scholarship, or take a field trip to the Fair, there are many ways to be a part of the Fair! For more information, please email email@example.com.

This free program is open to students K-3 and takes place in April. Fair staff will visit your school and educate students using animals, games, puzzles and stories!
Program registration opens: Early February Program registration deadline: March 12, 2016
Incorporate agriculture into your curriculum! This free program starts in the spring with Fair staff delivering materials to your classroom for students to grow their own plants. In June, students take a field trip to the Fair and bring their plant, learn more about agriculture and receive ribbons for their hard work! Open to schools in session when the Fair is open.
Program registration deadline: April 1, 2016
School visits: Mid April to late May
Program dates: June 8-10, 15-17, 21-24, and 28-30.
Provides college scholarships to outstanding San Diego County high school seniors who have participated in the San Diego County Fair or other Del Mar Fairgrounds events. For information and the application, visit www.dondiegoscholarship.org/scholarships.
Scholarship application deadline: March 21, 2016.
Field Trip Program
Schools and clubs are invited to take a free self-guided field trip to the Fair. An educational program will include STE(A)M workshops, agricultural demonstrations and more (see below).

Program dates: June 15 and 16, 2016
Explore the STEAM Maker Festival on June 15 and 16 from 11:00AM to 4:00PM, free with Fair Admission.
This two-day event, held the same days as the Field Trip Program, will feature free activities including make-and-take stations, daily build challenges, a drama workshop, K-Zone, challenge display area, and more!
Free Challenges: Sign up to participate in a challenge at sdfsmf.org (space is limited). Challenges include a Recycled Fashion Show, Engineering Recycle, Robotics Competition and more.
Showcase a classroom project and have it displayed at the Fair. Individuals, groups, and teachers are encouraged to enter. Entry categories include: art, graphic design, student landscapes, photography, general technology, community service projects, crafts, missions, writing, educational projects, and more.

Read to Earn Fair Admission
Students 12 and younger who read 10 books can complete the Reading Certificate and receive free admission to the Fair!
Reading Certificate, English: Available in March.

Teacher Appreciation Days
Teachers and school employees receive two complimentary admission tickets to the Fair on Friday, June 17, and Friday, June 24. Any employee of a K-12 public or private school, college or university is eligible, no matter where the school is located. Information about where to get tickets will be available in May.
During the Fair, visit the AgriFair for a Scavenger Hunt worksheet that will take you through several fun and educational exhibits. Earn a 2016 Fair Theme Patch along the way ($2 charge, while supplies last).
Fairgoers 12 years and younger are admitted free every Tuesday. Kids' Days feature entertainment and contests that are loads of fun for our youngest guests. Look for updated information on the Kids' Day page closer to Fairtime.
The San Diego County Fair has many one-day contests. Some are for cooks, some are for crafters and some are for people who just like to have fun. For more information, see the Contests section of our website.
