DEL MAR, CA (October 13, 2009) - The 22nd District Agricultural Association Board of Directors announced the theme for the 2010 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Sav-on, at the monthly meeting held today at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. “Taste the Fun” is next year’s theme highlighting local agriculture, producers, culinary arts and all things related to food!
“It’s all about agriculture and getting back to our roots,” said General Manager/CEO Timothy Fennell of the Del Mar Fairgrounds. “A large part of the 22nd DAA’s mission has always been to focus on agriculture and this theme gives us a great opportunity to show off our local farmers, produce growers and local businesses that we have here in our own backyard,” Fennell added.
The 2010 San Diego County Fair will run for 22 days opening Friday, June 11, and closing on Monday, July 5. (The Fair will be closed the first three Mondays, June 14, 21 & 28.)
The San Diego County Fair is the largest annual event in San Diego County and the sixth largest fair in the United States, drawing more than 1.2 million visitors each year. The San Diego County Fair 2009 attendance was 1,274,442, an all-time attendance record.
