New Food
Charlie's Chicken near AgriFair: Deep Fried Klondike Bar , Deep Fried Pop Tart, and Beef Kabob.
Funnel Cake on a Stick

Buffalo Chicken Fry Bread
Sweet Potato Fry Dog and Hash Brown Fry Dog (hot dog dipped in batter, then in hash browns or sweet potato and deep fried).

Four-Pound Belly Buster Burger. This giant weighs four pounds, is 11 inches wide, and has 10 slices of cheese, eight slices of tomatoes, half a head of lettuce, 30-plus slices of dill pickles and five ounces of burger sauce. Feed an army, or an army of one!

The King of Deep Fried Food, Chicken Charlie, visits the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Together they fry Oreos, Zucchini Weenies, Twinkies, Charlie's sunglasses and a Spiderman action figure. This episode was recorded on September 21, 2009. Chicken Charlie is located on the Concourse at the San Diego County Fair.

New Rides
Viper is the newest addition to the Fair's Fun Zone. This ride, with its snake theme, tilts and spins to give riders a dizzying experience. A large arm crosses the entire top of the ride, tilting and spinning. At each end of the giant arm are the seats, and these spin, too.
Another new attraction is the German Fun House. Kiddieland has added Quadzilla.
