San Diego International Beer Festival
In just three short years, the San Diego International Beer Festival has become one of the largest in the country, with more than 150 breweries and 350 beers from around the world. This year, 15 states and 22 countries participated in the festival June 25-27, 2010; a link to the list is farther down this page.
Congratulations to Pizza Port, Best In Show!
Out of 350 beers entered by more than 150 breweries from around the world, Pizza Port of Solana Beach has won Best of Show for its Big Wednesday beer entered in the Specialty Beer class. This marks the second year in a row that Pizza Port has taken the top honors (last year, the Carlsbad Pizza Port was the winner).
San Diego County breweries won nine of the 29 gold medals. Other gold medals went to breweries from other parts of California (4), Oregon (2), Utah, Colorado and Washington (1 each), England (3), Germany (2), and Austria, Belgium, Australia, Scotland, Holland and France (1 each).

Previous Festival Results
The 2009 Best of Show was Good Grief Brown Ale made by Pizza Port of Carlsbad, California. More than 300 beers from 17 countries and 20 states participated.
The 2008 Best Of Show beer was West Coast IPA (India Pale Ale) made by Green Flash Brewery of Vista, California. A total of 104 local, regional, national and international breweries participated.
In the inaugural event, the 2007 Best of Show was Shipyard Export Ale in the English Pale Ale class, from Shipyard Brewing Co. of Portland, Maine.
