Who has the best pie or quilt? Home and Hobby competition is the very origin of the county fair. The San Diego County Fair has hundreds of divisions and classes that award ribbons, cash and prizes for the best homemade food, clothing and decorative items.
In the foods divisions, competition includes cakes, candy, breads, canned fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies, pickles and more.
In the needle arts and sewing categories, divisions include crocheting, knitting, lacemaking, needlepoint, quilting, sewing, smocking, weaving and spinning.
Decorative arts competitions include basketry and gourds, beading, ceramics, dolls and toys, holiday decorations, Fair theme, polymer clay, tole painting and more.
Hobby competitions include collectibles, antiques, coins, stamps and more.
Entry Materials
Entry materials for the 2010 Fair will be posted by mid-February; please check back.
