One of the most popular contests at the San Diego County Fair is the Hip Hop Dance Battle. Groups of five or more members compete in three divisions, and are judged on technical skills, showmanship, creativity, rhythm and costume.
Following the competition, Master Gee & Wonder Mike of the Original Sugar Hill Gang will perform. The Sugar Hill Gang is credited with the first hip-hop single to hit the Top 40, "Rapper's Delight."
